Make Easter a special time for you and your dog. There is nothing like having a few days off from work to show our dogs how much we love them. From time spent together to a day at the dog spa, here are just 5 ways to pamper your pup, no matter what occasion.
1.One on one time
The thing your pup loves the most is extra time with their favourite person—you! Give your dog some one-on-one time doing some of their favourite things. Play a game of tug-o-war, snuggle up on your couch together, or take a nice long walk around your suburb or to your local park! No matter what activity you choose, your pup will appreciate the time you spend together.
2.Cook them a meal
You can make a dog-friendly homemade meal or get some high-quality treats from your local pet store, or order online. If you’re making something at home, look out for recipes with peanut butter, sweet potato, and other dog-friendly ingredients. You can even do something as simple as freezing chicken broth for a special treat. Don’t allow your pet to indulge too much, especially if they have a sensitive stomach. Remember, no chocolate! Leave that one for the kiddies.
3.New blanket, bed or toy
Nothing says “pamper” like a plush snuggly blanket or extra cushioned dog bed for your pooch. Pick a new bed that matches your pet’s sleeping style and needs. Do they like to burrow under the covers? Try a new cozy blanket! Could your senior pet use an extra-soft sleeping space? Look for an orthopaedic pet bed! Don’t forget the fun as well – a new dog friendly toy, or to be more practical a brand new collar to smarten him up!
4.Everyone loves a picnic!
For the active pup, a picnic and playtime in the park may be just what they need. Bring a ball or frisbee for some fetch and a nice big picnic blanket to lounge in the sun afterward. You can even pack a basket of treats for yourself and your pet.
5.Doggy day spa
Keep your pet fresh and relaxed with a day at the doggy spa. You can take them to a professional groomer or set up your own spa at home! Start the afternoon with a bath to help them freshen up. Give them a fresh nail trim, and finish off doggy spa day with a nice long massage from head to paw.
So, tell us… how do you like to pamper your doggo?
